Hang w/ Widget

Project Description

In order to help amplify the reach of our Hang w/ application & its content, I personally programmed a "web widget" which allowed anyone to embed live broadcasts on their website with just one line of code. The widget allowed viewers to see 5 of the broadcasters most recent videos as well as tune in live when the user was on.

The widget was originally programmed in PHP but as more celebrity users took to it, had to be rebuilt to handle significant traffic. As such, the widget was rebuilt purely with javascript, css & html and hostedn on Amazon's CDN to handle the load.

The widget had an overwhelming positive response and was picked up by numerous of the celebrities. It was featured on 50Cent's website, Timeout Magazine, Ragged Magazine, Herbalife's #worldrecord campaign and many more.
